CLUBS & Culture Public Speaking Roscoe Drummond once said: “the mind is a wonderful thing. It star ts working the minute you are born and never stops until you get up to speak in public.” The large group of 45 boys who made up the Speakers’ Circle in 2014 proved him wrong! Possessing fine, ar ticulate brains, it was most rewarding to witness these boys growing in confidence and ability. Although many of the talented grade 10 members were on international exchange, the final Speakers’ Circle dinner was held in the Greyhound. Cameron Rencken was the chairman for the evening and, as he had done so capably throughout the year, kept a compassionately strict eye on the evening’s proceedings. At the close of a most memorable evening the following roles were announced: The highlight of the year was the annual Inner Circle ‘moms and sons’ formal dinner, held in the Greyhound in October. The evening’s proceedings were chaired by the confident and capable Keegan Foss.
