136 GOLF Golf 2014 focused upon building for the future. With few senior players, the juniors were thrown in the deep end and had to learn quickly how to cope at league level. Durban and District A league The season proved to be hotly contested with final positions coming down to the last match. After our best start in individual matchplay we did not manage to get our foursomes pairings right and drew two of our matches. This put pressure on our better ball matchplay combinations, who performed well, only losing to eventual league winnersWestville. The relatively inexperienced side grew this year and have realised never to take any match for granted.We will lose few matrics at the end of the year and are in a strong position to regain our title in 2015. Played: 12 Won: 8 Lost: 2 Drew: 2 Durban and District B League The 2nd team has a number of inexperienced players but played at a high level. However, inconsistency in the team meant that players never settled in one position.What is exciting, is the keen interest being shown in the junior grades which will give the team some depth next year.
