Chronicle-2014

144 HOCKEY U 14D Generally, the team’s progression through the season was pleasing. The boys have learnt to play a possession-based game with a focus on allowing the ball to work, something that became more prominent in the last few matches. The key areas of development included attempting to maintain a more structured and systematic style of play and maintaining open channels of communication during games. Overall, the boys relished the challenge of playing older boys when they were pitted against U 16 teams and their determination during matches was their strongest asset. The final match against Glenwood was the highlight as we won scoring a well-drilled penalty corner – practice does indeed make perfect. The boys have been both eager to learn and a great deal of fun throughout the season and it has been a pleasure to coach them.
