166 SOCCER U 16A The season began on a high with wins against Nor thwood and Hillcrest. The players then came down to ear th with a loss to a very good DHS team. A series of good come backs against Thomas More; Clifton; St Charles and Hilton saw the players gain confidence and belief in their ability. Overall the boys performed very well, considering that a number of them were taken up to the 1st XI, breaking the positive momentum of long-established combinations. The players who came into the side coped admirably and were an asset to the team and the College. Manzini Zungu Played: 10 Won: 6 Lost: 2 Drew: 2 U 16B It was a very enjoyable experience working with these boys this season. They are a talented group of boys and I must commend them for their attacking style of football. This is reflected in their results. Bradley Por teous was a fantastic leader and helped bring the boys together as a team. I loved every minute coaching these boys and I hope they continue their good work next season. Grant Scott Played: 8 Won: 6 Lost: 2 U 16C After four straight losses the players showed lots of character to come back and win their next two games. The last game of the season was against a strongWestville team who had lots of depth and resulted in a hard loss. However, these players must be complimented on their enthusiasm and not giving up even when the opposition were very strong. Nhlanhla Dlamini Played: 7 Won: 2 Lost: 5 U 16D The season began with mixed results, drawing and losing alternately. However, the players showed lots of tenacity and ended the season with good wins against Clifton, Hilton and finallyWestville. These players fought for each game as though it were a cup final, making them a pleasure to coach. Dougan MacDonald Played: 7Won: 3 Lost: 2 Drew: 2 U 16E These players did not necessarily have brilliant skills but they played well as a team and were determined. They began the season convincingly winning each week with the only blemish being a draw against a very good St Charles side.
