THE COMMUNITY For the first time in many years, we held a service in Zulu attended by our Zulu-speaking staff and was well received. Our school is held up in regular prayer by the Moms Who Pray intercessory prayer group. They faithfully met every Monday morning for this. We thank God for the varied ways in which He has enabled us to be the “aroma of Christ” in this place. Reverend James Headbush CAROL SERVICES Our annual Carol Services have become a popular tradition at Kearsney. These events signal the end of the year on campus and provide the perfect setting for our season of giving, in which we collect donations of tinned goods, toiletries and other gifts in aid of the Ethelber t Children’s Home. They also serve as one of the first signals that Christmas and the Advent period are around the corner. The choir, aided by some of the College’s top instrumentalists as well as professional musicians, created a rich tapestry of sound, spanning multiple centuries and various styles of music from classical to contemporary. The heavenly music was seamlessly interspersed with biblical readings and poetry. We are happy to repor t that the offering taken at this year’s Carol Services yielded just shor t of R15 000.
