-■ OLD BOYS NOTES In these times it becomes increasingly difficult to keep in touch with Old Boys, and one has to depend so much on hearsay. We are most anxious to know what Old Boys are doing. A note to the secretary will be most welcome from time to time, and accounts of any experiences you have will be welcomed by the Staff. We are immensely proud of our Old Boys at all times, but never more so than at a time like this. Their response to the call has been splendid. By no means all those who have joined are l isted nere, as there are so many one does not hear about. Please let us know what unit you have joined, and where you are! The Durban Branch Annual Dinner was held at the Royal Hotel on the 13th April. The following attended: The Headmaster, C. Medworth, E. Smith, j. H. Hopkins, C. Hopkins, L. France, A. Winship, A. Theunissen, D. Sparks, A. Chick, Hudson, Swale, W. Mitchell, M. Poole, L. Polkinghorne, H. Middleton, j. Bertram, W. Robinson, D. Munro, A. Raw, C. Theunissen, T. jackson, A. Piper, j. Howarth, D. Gilliat, A. Chick, C. Bazley (Head Prefect) . E. R. Burnett gained a First Class in Part I I of the Civil Service Lower Law Examination; there was only one other First Class in the country. Congratulations! W. M. Crook has taken his B.A. at Natal University College with a First Class in Roman Law. W. H. Groves is at Witwatersrand University. j. Barratt is a shiftman in the crusher plant on Marievale Mine. C. Sparks, whi le down on a business trip, called in at the College and saw the urgent need for a suitable mower for the new field. He took the trouble to select a suitable machine in Durban, brought it out and contributed £5 towards the cost. A. Raw is doing some practical work at the Empangeni Mill, while R. Weightman is serving his fitter's apprenticeship in the same Mill. Married: Congratulations to H. Hansen, D. Nightingale, H. Kruger and K. Balcomb, and good wishes for their future happiness. D. Munro is serving his engineer's apprenticeship under his father at the Doornkop Sugar Estates. A. j. Munro is an apprentice engineer at Roberts Heights, as also is B. Scheffer. N. Chapl in is taking a surveyor's course at Rhodes University. J. King and K. Dyer are both at U.T.C. taking a medical course. j.
