Chronicle-1940

have first of all the support of our friends in Natal, unless we continue to turn out young men fearing Cod and loving their fellow-men and in general unless we are showing ourselves worthy of the" opportunity that is ours. It is essential that we show parents that we can offer them something more than just preparing boys for examinations and that our efforts justify their efforts to keep their sons at a school like this. "Finally, may I express my appreciation to you, Mr. Chairman, and to your Board for the sympathetic manner in which you receive my continual requests. There is a real understanding of the needs of a school such as ours and a willingness to help limited in its fulfilment only by the need for the money required. May I add also that it is good for a school to have to struggle to make its way and not to get all it wants too easily, but it means much to my Staff and myself to know that the sympathy IS always there. "We are still suffering from growing pains, but the infant is a sturdy one and its cries are the lusty ones we expect from a growing infant demanding its full supply of food, and not the querulous whines of a weak and ailing child. We look forward to the future with confi dence and hope." The Prizes which, as last year, took the form of Certificates, were then graciously presented by Mrs. John j.
