CHOIR The primary function of a choir is, of course, to lead the singing in Chapel. Were this its sole function, the result would be more satisfying—but the programme would be stiflingly dull. As usual, little more is accomplished in the first six months than drilling the new choir into shape, but always with the school concert or carols in view. These function are essential for enthusiasm and purposiveness. After the performance and enthusiasm of last year, the singers this year have been listless and relatively voiceless. They have lacked drive and interest, and only in preparing the "Gloria" 223
