MEETING HELD IN THE LIBRARY, NOVEMBER 9th, 1961 Present: Rev. A. Jennings (Chairman), Messrs. R. H. Matterson (Treas.), S. G. Osier, K. Fish, P. E. Metcalf, O. L. Griffiths, A.J. Daniel, and J. F. Reece (Sec.). Apologies: Mrs. Osier, Mrs. Reece, Mrs. Tedder, Mr. Harper. Minutes of Meeting, September 19th, confirmed. Arising: Keith Lewis Plaque: Cabinet now made by Mr.Montague and would be set in the Chapel above the Old Boys' Memorial scroll. Vestry Clock: Agreed that Mr. Matterson buy a suitable battery-driven clock from Pietermaritzburg. Coat-hooks: Now installed in porch, but agreed to ask Mr. Montague to mount on better wood. Financial Statement: Presented by the Treasurer and adopted. Arising: Permission granted to the Treasurer to pay offthe balance of the R90 debt on the Chapel, the total cost of Chapel and organ having totalled R54,000. Thanks expressed to the Treasurer for his watchfulness over Chapel Funds throughout the years. Agreed that surplus of collection on Remembrance Sunday be sent to World Refugee Fund. Increased assessments. Agreed to raise target to R300. Agreed to increase allocation to Chapel Trust funds from Sunday collection to R14 per Sunday. Social Services Fund: Agreed to donate RIO to Bantu Christ mas Fund, and to discuss the use of the balance (R160) at next meeting. General: The Chairman congratulated Messrs. Matterson and Reece on having been appointed Circuit Stewards for the Durban County Circuit. School Chaplain: Mr. Osier reported that the Boa.rd had given approval for appointment in due course.
