Ross-Elliot. Kearsney had one friendly shoot against Northlands. The Juniors lost with a score of 1011 against 1082 of Northlands. The Seniors of Kearsney won with a score of 1113 against 942 of Northlands. We entered 12 pupils to the Annual Cadet Bisley, but achieved nothing outstanding this year. For the Senior Championships a joint award was given to E. Hohls and A.J. Browning, each with a score of 194/200. The Junior champion was F. Goosen with a score of 190/200. The highest average during the year, taking the best 12 targets into account, went to G.L. Brokensha, a score of 985/1000. E. Hohls followed with 980/1000. Gillingham won the House Competition with a score of 1534/1600, Pembroke 2nd with 1493/1600 and Einningley 3rd with 1465/1600. Cadets also got a chance during Eriday cadet period to try their luck. Most targets could not be scored, because to handle a rifle for the first time and at the same time try and score, was proved not to be too easy. L. KASSIER RUGBY In most respects this has been a very successful season. Over 400 boys played rugby, 21 teams regularly represented the school and a number of boys refereed junior games. The statistics show that the under 15 age group is weak, but this is due largely to it's sheer lack of players, as a result of the change in age groupings. The under 14% age group, on the other hand, is strong, both in quantity and quality. One hopes that the strong Open and under 14% age groups will absorb this weakness caused by the introduction of U13% and U14% age groups. The success of the 36
