Hockey The first team enjoyed one of their best seasons in recent years and an encouraging aspect is the talent and enthusi asm which is evident in the junior ranks. Apart from our ten teams competing against the local schools in Durban and Pietermaritzburg in the second term, there were two pre-season festivals. The under 15A team played in Dur ban and Pietermaritzburg in the second term, there were two pre-season festivals. The under 15A team played in the Queenstown festival in April and the first team took part in the Michaelhouse Easter Festival. The first team also had a very successful tour of Zimbabwe in the July holidays. Kearsney was well represented at Natal Schoolslevel with J. King and A.Tweedie being selected for the A team and S.Bumsfor the B team.J. King went on to gain selection for the SA Schools A team. McKeown-Colours-Natal Robins Our 1993 season was one ofthe busiest and mostsuccess ful in the history ofhockey atthe College.From the outset the boys were well motivated and there was an abundance oftalent.Oursquad ofplayers setofffor the Michaelhouse Easter Festival with high expectations and after dropping in at Hilton on the way up to play a practice match we arrived in good time at Michaelhouse to settle in to our comfortable accommodation. On the first moming of the Festival we played a very strong Westridge side and were lucky to gain a0-0draw.In the aftemoon session we played superbly against St Stithians totally dominating the match and winning 5-0.
