Congratulations to Gillingham for winning this very closely contested match. Cape Town Tour in April: The tour to Bishops earlier this year was a memorable event. Seven boys, accom panied by Mr Tony Gelder and me,headed southwards in the brand new Marathon minibus on Tuesday 29 March. Our first stop was to fix the fuel pump in Harrismith. The second stop wasto cure MrTony Gelder of his tick-bite fever in Bloemfontein! We slept over at tbe Hendrik VerwoerdDam(oris it Gariep Dam?),where MrChris Diedericks and his familyjoined usfor a braai. Cape Town was great. We climbed Table Mountain, nearly visited Sandy Bay, did a lot of sightseeing and had some wonderful squash against some very strong sides. The tournament was very well organized, we picked upsome valuable experience and eventually won three ofthe six matches. STAFFSQUASH We now have a staffsquash ladder which is fast becom ing quite dynamic! Our talents range from calm, calcu lated accuracy(M. Griffiths) to 'raging bull' determi nation(R. Nott). Our trip up to Hilton College saw us thoroughly victorious by a margin of 6 matches to 3 over their staff. We won't mention that our only losses were to the three musketeers who least deserved to lose. We have a few matches planned for next year, so no time for despondency please. Finally, afarewell to our sixth formers. They have played well and given of their best. Thank you to Blake for all his time and efforts. It will not be long before we see his name in the Natal Senior's squad. R.DE VILLIERS 104 Kearsney Chronicle 1994
