In the first term it was the closest margin that the House came to winning the Inter-house gala in many a year, coming a mere 13 points behind the "swimming" house, Finningley. The remainder of the year belonged to Cillingham on the sporting front - we walked away with the following fnter-house trophies: 1. Athletics 2. Tug 'o war 3. Cricket 4. Squash 5. Tennis 6. Cross Country My thanks go to all the boys, especially the team cap tains for this superb effort. On the academic side, theHouse won the covetedParkes Trophy for accumulating themost academic points dur ing the year. The boys deserved this for the many hours academic effort they put in. On the cultural side, Cillingham won: 1. Inter-house debating 2. Inter-house plays The above was due to sterling work done by the boys, not only the boys who appeared but to the back stage work horses as well. On the spiritual and outreach side, most of theboys were involved and my thanks go to them. The following awards were made to Cillingham boys this year: A. Buchanan C. Creenberg J. Rautenbach L. McDougall, D. Gumming, J. Moore, D. Johnson, B. Muller, J. Rautenbach, J. Nel, M. Tyler, B. Hulett, T. Mapenga, L. Archary. If winning trophies is a yardstick to go by, then thismust be one of themost successful years Cillinghamhas ever enjoyed which hopefully augurs well for the future. Thank you to theHouse staff, matron, prefects andboys for a wonderful year. DM. SUDDING Chess Honours: Cultural Honours: Rugby Honours: House Colours: 26 Kearsney Chronicle 1994
