Haley House Report 1994 has seen the development of a very spirited bunch of youngsters. From the outset, their enthusiasm made sure the year would be an enjoyable and rewarding one for all those involved with the house. The end of the first term saw a change inHaley withMr Daniels leaving to take over as Housemaster in Finningley.Iwould like to say a big thank you to both himandhis wife for the guidance and support they gave the boys and the prefects at the start of the year. The arrival of Mr De Villiers brought a new dimension to the house and his enthusiasm ensured that he settled in to his new surroundings very quickly.Iwould also like to thank Mr Goldhawk, Mr Graves and Mrs RandallTaylor for their invaluable support while doing duty in the house throughout the year. The boys have excelled both in the classroom and on the sportsfield and have ensured that the high standards expected by all Kearsney boys have been upheld in all aspects of school life. L. Bush deserves a special men tion for his incredible achievements on the athletics field, as well as on the cricket field, rugby field and in the classroom. He truly has had an outstanding year. The assistanceIhave had frommy fellow prefects: Sven Lundin, Warwick Tindall, Richard Brown and Neil Anderson, as well as the guidance offered by Dave Woolnough andWilliamLee, has made my job somuch more enjoyable and ensured that things always ran smoothly. A special mention must go to our matron, Mrs LyteMason who leaves at the end of 1994 after many years of dedicated service. Few people realize the amount of work the matron does to keep the gardens and house in order. Thank youMrs Lyte-Mason. Go well. Finally,Iwould like to wish the boys the very best for their future at Kearsney andbeyond.Iam sure they will mature and uphold the traditions which make this Col lege a great one. JOHNCAULFIELD Pembroke House Report Mr Lamplough, Mr Mullane and Mrs Stanley, who are leaving, have all contributed to the success of Pembroke House in various ways for many years. Mr Mullane, as duty master for three years, has become well known to the boys for his firm and friendly manner and for his unswerving dedication to ensuring a full house at break fast every morning. Mrs Stanley has taken care of Pembroke boys for the last seven years. She has always been willing to assist the boys, sewing on name tags, organising the laundry and keeping the house in spot less condition. It would be impossible to write this report without pay ing tribute to the housemaster, Mr Robin Lamplough. He has been a father figure for many Pembroke boys over the seven years he has been housemaster and will be remembered mainly for his kindness, even tempera ment and his ability to see things from the boys' point of view as well as his own. Credit for Pembroke boys' achievements can partly be attributed to these three. And the boys really excelled themselves this year. 28 Kearsney Chronicle 1994
