Kearsney is in the excellent position of having some outstanding coaches who through their dedication and hard work draw very promising players to the school.I thank them for their support and enthusiasm. Overall our results were excellent as can be seen from the statistics of each team and on the whole we won many more games than we lost. The 2nd team had another incredible season and are to be congratulated on their achievement. Although the 1st team had disappointing results in the Top 8 Toumament, where they just could not score the goals that went begging, they did bounce back at the end to lose narrowly to Northwood. Individually our players excelled and B. Manson and M.Nelson were selected for Natal Schools A while R. Leibrandt was selected for the B team and M. Nelson and J. Hunter represented the C team. M. Brunskill played for the Natal U14 A team who won the interprovincial toumament in Pretoria. At the SA Schools Inter-Provincial Toumament,Bevan Manson was selected to representSA against Australian 1st Team This highlight of the year was undoubtedly the tour to the USA which has been recorded in the Carpe Diem. The '95 season as a whole was disappointing as the team never quite managed to fulfil their potential. There were too many times when tempers flared and discipline suffered and we ended up with an extraordinary number of exclusions, sometimes as many as 3 players were sitting out of the water, unable to play further in that match. The team played some good polo at times, but were unable to score goals. In fact this weakness cost us many victories and had a large number ofgames ending in draws. Goal-scoring in tight situations was our biggest problem and once we overcome this handicap, we will play some great waterpolo. 120 Kearsney Chronicle 1995
