GRAHAM GREEN(1955)writes that his wife,Arlene, passed away in April 1995. He was promoted in 1994 and the Strategic Business Unit, which is his responsibility, has an income of in excess of R400 million. HYLTON GREEN (1974) is farming beef and dairy between Ladysmith and Winterton. He is in regular contact with PETER CROSSLEY(1974),a solicitor in England,and TOM CROFT(1974)a naval architect in the USA.He has four sons, Justin, Gareth, Christopher and Stephen. JOHNNY GROHOVAZ (1981) changed career from building after developing a severe dislike for cement dust. He is now selling investments. He has seen DON BOYCE(1981) who is running the biggest shebeen in Cape Town, CHRIS BUSH (1980) who has an accounting practice in Cape Town, LINSEY DICKS (1981) who heads up a physiotherapy department in a Califomian hospital and CHRIS CHARTER (1981) who is growing lots ofrasberries and children in the hill north of Johannesburg. NORMAN HAGEMANN (1966) writes that he has been happily settled in New Zealand for nine years now and has been married to Nicky for 21 years. They have a son,Paul, who missed out on Kearsney because they chose to emigrate, and a daughter, Tessa. He is currently running his own management consulting business. ANTHONY HALL (1983) is playing 1st Division Cricket for DHSOB Club and is a regular member of the 1st XV. He was recently married to Deborah and they are expecting their first child in December 1995. JOE HANSEN(1950) is still travelling a lot, to Asia, the Far East, Australasia and Africa. He writes from Kalamazoo in the USA that the seed industry, while not heralded, has become multinational in scope with high technology. He always visits Kearsney when in RSA, which is once a year, and says he is pleased to note the obvious progress in the school and its future direction, although he and his friends usually only think ofthe old days! MIKE HARVEY(1959)has completed ten years with PGIndustries and hasjustfinished his tour oftwo years as National Chairperson of the Aloe, Cactus and Succulent Society ofZimbabwe. He has built a sailing cruiser with two co-owners and enjoyed a successful voyage on Lake Kariba. His son, Graeme,obtained his BSc Building Management at Durban University. CRISPIN HEMSON(1964)is currently Director ofthe School ofEducation at the University ofNatal,Durban, and Development Officer for the Central Natal Surf Lifesaving Association. His own field is adult education and he is encouraging the development of body boarding and lifesaving. FRED HITTLER (1934) was forced to retire from the active Ministry at the end of 1977 due to ill health. He has continued working as an Associate Minister since then and a big heart operation in August 1990 gave him a new lease of life. He is involved with Rosebank and Observatory Churches, the latter celebrated its centenary in November 1994 MICHAEL HITTLER (1966) is the Distribution Requirement Planning Manager with Engen in Cape Town. STEPHEN HOBBS(1973)is consulting in the area of Organisational Change. He is blessed with three daughters - and the prospect of36 years of school fees to St. Mary's, Kloof!! He sits on the Executive Committee of the Africa Alliance of YMCAs and had the challenge of chairing the Umlazi Peace Committee between 1992 and 1994 and was Regional Mediator with the Independent Electoral Commission. KRIS HONEYMAN(1982)writes from Georgia in the USA where he is Vice President and General Manager of Beaulieu Rug Division. Hejoined them in 1993 and increased Beaulieu Rugs'presence in the marketplace to such an extent that sales doubled in 1994. All this necessitated significant planning and expansion. Beaulieu also has plants in South Africa which go under the name of Natal Nylon, based in Pietermaritzburg. Kris asks if anyone who graduated in the year 1982 could contact him at his home so that he can get back in circulation with some ofthe people with whom he has lost touch. CRAIG HUDSON (1983) was recently appointed director ofFergusson Brothers Ltd,Durban.He and his wife, Lisa, had a son,Thomas,in November 1995. DOUG HUDSON(1938) has at long last retired from the hotel industry!He enjoys receiving Carpe Diem and the Chronicle and any other literature on old Kearsney. FRANCOIS HUGO (1961) is working a continuity arrangement in command of the VLCC Leonia which discharged at Durban in December 1994. His daughter Annie-May has graduated from Oxford as a Materials Scientist and is married. BRUCE HULEIT (1962) spent eleven years in Zululand and moved to Pietermaritzburg in March 1993 as General Manager of Mondi Forests South. All four of his sons,TREVOR(1988),GRAHAM(1989), COLIN (1991) and BARRY (1994) have passed through Kearsney and they all read the KCOB news with great interest."The school remains an institution of which we can all be justly proud." GAVIN HUME (1979) married Richelle Hurter of Durban in 1989. He has been involved in the Wildlife industry since he left Kearsney and is now one of the owners and directors of "Hunters & Guides, Africa" which is the largest safari company in Southem Africa. In 1994 he was voted the most outstanding "Professional Hunter of the Year". IKEY IVES(1944) who is now Executive Director of Methodist Homes for the Aged which provide security, care, nursing and other services to more than 2700 136 Kearsney Chronicle 1995
