The highlight of the season was the fitting end with the convincing defeat of Maritzburg College It took quite a few weeks for the team to settle down and get to know each other and develop some level of confidence in their own ability. The y y results clearly show a tremendous improvement. During the first term our highest total was 126 against Northwood and we only won 1 out of6 matches. In the fourth term,however,we managed to win 3 out ofthe 5 matches and averaged 160.Two of these wins were against sides that beat us comprehensively in the first term, so our improvement was very marked. Our best performance must have been against Michaelhouse, when so many of our batsmen made scores above 20,and we bowled them out for 66.
