Chronicle-2001

Kearsney were victorious on9ofthe remaining 10 outings. Detailed results appear elsewhere and highlights were many in such a successful season. The most memorable results were those against Hilton(twice),Michaelhouse,Glenwood, Pretoria Boys' and DHS on their Founders Weekend. The team truly entertained our supporters and produced high quality rugby. Many scintillating tries were scored from wellorchestrated phases. A supporting statistic to this statement is that 34 of the 80 tries in the season were scored by the wings and fullback. The match against Maritzbutg College produced outstanding rugby by both teams. The Kearsney team must be commended for their spectacular fight back in the second half after trailing 3-20 at halftime. The final score of15-25 is somewhat misleading but our opponents proved to be the top team in the province once again.
