n 9 I Front:J Wilkinson,J Howlett(Chairman), Rev. R Ramsay,M Wright, G Goosen Back:SZuma,C Hartivig,J Dirkson, M Garnett,D Lee, M Robert I count myself blessed to have worked this year with some deeply committed and passionate boys like Justin Howlett and Chris Hartwig. Justin led the S.C.A. with great passion and commitment.Thank you Justin for a good year ofgrowth, especially amongst the junior boys. Chris has led the Chapel with his usual humility and hard work.Borh these boys were ably backed by hard workers, especiallyJeremy Dirkson who takes over the S.C.A. in 2002. R.E.LESSONS The classroom is a challenge for most Chaplains as they are usually ministers who have had no reaching background.I have continued to refine the syllabus, introducing the teaching of other major world religions to Grade 10s. WEEKDAY CHAPEL I trust that these Chapel services have been helpful to the boys. I once again thank the stafffor their time and commitment in taking morning devotions. I am still convinced that these times in the Chapel are extremely useful in the life ofthe College. Camp Hike, and Andy Lemley from Ethelbert. I am hoping that this will continue in 2002. From the Chapel service collections a sum of Rl6000 was distributed to different ministries and Homes. To all who continue to give so generously, thank you. PILGRIM AWARD 2001 saw the largest number of boys ever doing the Pilgrim Award. The standard of work and effort put into this was astounding and I hope that this will be a motivation for the Grade 9 boys of2002.A very deep thank you to the staff who helped, especially Rod de Villiers who is a great motivator for the Award and even took a group ofthe boys on a Hike to the Drakensburg during the December holidays. I have worked this year with some deeply committedand passionate boys like Justin Howlettand Chris Hartwig. SUNDAYEVENING SERVICES My goal for 2001 was to have a special guest speaker once a rerm. We had interesting speakers like Hans Scriba and Herkie Kruger, Malcolm Pearse with a slide show on the Everest Base 27 S.C.A.REPORT Following on from a great year in 2000, the Committee took the S.C.A. to greater heights. There continue to be a large number of deeply commitred boys at the College, which is evident in the S.C.A. The most encouraging aspect is the number ofjuniors who are committed and itching to help, serve and even lead. Best wishes go toJeremy Dirksen and the rest of the committee as they seek to build on the wonderful work done by the previous committees. RODNEY RAMSEY
