Chronicle-2001

Finningley will be undergoing some major alrerations during the Christmas break - the two bathrooms upstairs and the bathroom in the matric wing are all going to be upgraded and re-tiled. I would like to thank Mrs. Helen Gammie for all her support over the pastfour years. Furthermore, I must acknowledge the work ofMessrs John Smith and Ronnie Pillay and their maintenance team for the hours they spend in the house. Also thanks to Peter Small and Ady Waltersfrom the kitchen for going that extra mile for the boys. A big thank you to Mr.John Sessions and the Parents Society for supplying Finningley with some "nice to haves". They paid for a new table tennis table and microwave oven as well as a new cover for our pool table. I could not have run the House effectively and efficiently without the help of a great support team.A special thanks to Mr.Ndaba,Mr.Graves and Mr. Amos for all their help and assistance, and to Sister Ashburner and Phillipine Miya for all their work behind the scenes. It is also interesting to note that Phillipine (our Finningley maid)has been at Finningley for 23 years! We will also be saying farewell ro Sister mm i ■AAsburner at the end of this year as she will be emigrating to New Zealand.Iwould like to thank her for all her hard work and wish her all the best. Ihave thoroughly enjoyed the year; there is a grear spirit amongst the boys. A big thank you to all the Finningley boys for rhe manner in which they have conducted themselves. Iwish all the boys and their families a blessed Christmas and a happy New Year. Iam looking forward to 2002 - we have a very motivated and extremely positive matric 2002 group and a very talented group of grade 9 boys arriving from Haley. AWILLOWS r V ■ m -»■ .V 1 36
