The yellow billed kites returned bang on time again this year, that being during the second week of August. The various cuckoos follow closely behind. Strangely,I haven't heard the emerald cuckoo yet this year. As usual, the purple crested loeries have been abundant again - conspicuous by their raucous call and flame red underwings. It is time now for our Bird Club to undergo a birding safari. 2002 could be the year.
