Basketball Basketball has enjoyed one of its most successfulseasons. Basketball has enjoyed one ofits most successful seasons. During the first term most teams had lots ofgames to play. The 1st and 2nd team won many oftheir games under the coaching ofMr B Ndaba and Mr N Forshaw. However, with the loss of three players of quality such as P Biyela,N Magubane,S Khoza from the 1st and 2nd team, it was evident that professional coaching was needed in order to draw the best from the remaining players. During the second term,the arrival ofthe new 1st and 2nd team coach Mr P Lukhele,and the reshuffling ofthe coaching staff, saw basketball rising to different heights at Kearsney. Most players improved tremendously. For the first time this year the 1st and the 2nd team found themselves highly competitive against all opponents. Sadly though injuries caused us problems. From these boys we hope to build a strong 1st team next year despite the loss ofa number of good players for various reasons. As far as the U14A and U15A are concerned, after their mediocre performance in the first term, there was no doubt that changes had to be implemented. And although the scores remained the same there were some pleasing improvements in play.
