During the opening season the team won all of their games except a very close encounter withWestville which they lost by one point. During the closing season the team once again performed well, only losing to DHS. The team performed so well during the course of the year they were matched against Glenwood’s 1st team for their final match. This was, however, too big an ask for the team and they could not secure the victory. But the boys can rest assured that they did the College proud during the year with excellent results. The team was captained by Phakamani Zulu who was an inspirational leader. Bongi Ndaba RESULTS Played: 10 Won: 8 Lost: 2 3RDTEAM The team was impressive this year, losing only two games. They were one of the Basketball sides with the best win rate. During their opening season many 1st team rugby boys joined the team and this gave them an aura of invincibility and some phenomenal skills. In the closing season the grade 11s in the side stepped up to fill the breach left by the matrics and they did not disappoint. The team maintained its high standards. Marcel Botha RESULTS Played: 9 Won: 7 Lost: 4THTEAM The players in this team really enjoyed themselves but also played hard and gave as good as they got. It shows how far basketball has come that during the closing season we were still able to put a four th team on the court and competition for places was tough. The team did not win many games – but they could have. A bit more training and skills development is needed for this group a players to live up to their true potential. Jason Rottcher RESULTS Played: 9 Won: 6 Lost: 3
