Chronicle-2011

121 BASKETBALL U14 A Many of the boys began the season having never played basketball and they have worked hard to become basketball players. In the opening season they demonstrated great potential and played in a number of very exciting games that kept the spectators glued to their seats. It was unfor tunate that there was little in the way of off-season training as the closing season saw the boys beginning all over again. It was only during the last two matches that their skills re-emerged. They could be a good basketball team as was shown in their narrow defeat to DHS and their win against Glenwood. The players are going to have to work very hard on their skills next year if they are to maintain momentum. N. The enthusiasm spread through the grade 8s and many new players swelled the ranks. The team improved greatly during the year and hopefully this will continue. It would cer tainly help to develop depth in the College’s basketball. Manzini Zungu was instrumental in keeping the players focused during the season and I thank him for his involvement. P.
