In addition to a busy traditional schedule, this season included two of our teams travelling and playing in Singapore/Malaysia. All our teams continue to have an opportunity to train and play matches on synthetic surfaces and this is certainly contributing to our school’s successes on the field. At the beginning of the year a new water based carpet was installed that included a state of the art irrigation system. We are also making good progress on a gallery of past 1st XI photographs that will be on display in the museum. The U14 A team attended a festival during the Easter holidays and achieved some fantastic results. The team of the year would undoubtedly be the 2nd’s who achieved a very fine set of results and were unbeaten. We have already identified a number of issues that the open age group will need to address in the 2012 season in order to get up to speed. Kearsney was once again at the helm of KZN organisation. Wayne Marsden was vice-chairman and he was assisted by Andrea Fripp, John Drew and Jon Robinson, ran an extremely efficient and successful U18 interprovincial tournament at Kearsney. Peter Kirsten, Keagan Eccles, Greg Last,Wayne Marsden and Jon Robinson were all involved in the selection of district and provincial teams. I would like to thank the umpires who make the game possible every week and pay a special tribute to those who travel long distances to officiate the first team matches. I would also like to thank the coaching staff for their enthusiastic and committed approach to the sport, as well as the parents for their loyal support. Wayne Marsden H CKEY
