Skilled, reliable, committed and determined are words for the players. In what can only be described as a highly successful first hockey season at high school, these boys were a force to be reckoned with and were held in high regard, even a little feared, by their opponents. With a win rate of 75% and 46 goals scored, and only 10 conceded, the future of this team is very positive. The team participated in the Ken Florens tournament at Northwood and won 4 of their 5 games. Congratulations are extended to Alex di Marco who was acknowledged as the most valuable midfielder of the tournament. During the 2nd term no fewer than 5 of the boys were chosen for the KZN Coastal U14 A team, while 8 boys were chosen for the PADSA team. My grateful thanks are extended to Greg Last who did such a sterling job coaching the boys onto such a firm hockey foundation. Andrea Fripp RESULTS Played:16 Won: 12 Lost: 4 U14 B The side had a very pleasant, enjoyable and successful season, only losing one match to a very strong Michaelhouse side in the last game of the season. The team was motivated and always keen to play the ball quickly and effectively with good linkage between the defenders and attackers. Perhaps if we had conver ted more of our opportunities in the circle our results would have reflected more convincing wins. John Drew RESULTS Played: 10 Won: 7 Lost: 1 Drew: 2
