Chronicle-2011

153 RUGBY U16C This team must have been the strongest side that Kearsney has ever seen. The team’s willingness to learn saw them improve throughout the season. After convincing wins against George Campbell, Michaelhouse and Hilton at the start of the season, we came up against a strongWestville side. Although we played really well, we lost in the last seconds of the game when Westville was awarded a penalty in front of the posts. We had our share of injuries during the season and our trip to St Stithians gave many other players a chance to show off their talents and fur ther strengthen the side. The boys can be proud of the way they played the game. The end of the season was plagued with injury but the boys endured the swapping of positions and rose to the challenge. All credit must go to the boys for their enthusiasm and courage to try new things and not give up. My thanks must go to the backline captain, Jason Proctor and to Keegan Barker, the vice-captain, for their leadership. Etienne Grundling RESULTS Played: 10 Won: 6 Lost: 4 U16E This side was unfor tunate to play only 3 fixtures during the season. Although the boys showed admirable determination, they lost all three of the games, and it is a credit to their spirit that they continued to attended every practice every week. Their fight against Westville was the highlight of the season and they were unlucky not to win that game. Matt Gregory RESULTS Played: 3 Lost: 3
