Chronicle-2011

158 U14 B This was a thoroughly enjoyable season. Although lacking in genuine pace and physical strength, the boys really took their practices and matches seriously and made good progress during the season. Unfor tunately, their tackling let them down on several occasions. However, the tight phases of the game were good and their passing skills improved through-out the year under the guidance of Wayne Sudding, who joined the team in the second quar ter. The highlights of the year were wins against Westville and Michaelhouse and an exciting draw against a strong Nor thwood team. Special mention and thanks must be given to the large and loyal group of parents whose support was never intrusive. But once the scoring star ted, it didn’t stop. Under the excellent captaincy of Derrick Loades, and with the assistance of a number of U16 players who lent their assistance, this group of gutsy young men developed their skills, fitness and aggression steadily throughout the season. I would like to thank the parents and friends who so loyally suppor ted and encouraged the mighty C side, as well as Derrick and the U16s for their muchvalued contributions.
