Gareth Moerdyk RESULTS Played: 6 Won: 3 Lost 3 4THTEAM Not only was this team unbeaten but they also won every match that they played - which is a first in the annals of Kearsney soccer. Their emphasis on a maximum of three touches before passing the ball as well as shooting at goal at any given oppor tunity produced excellent dynamics. While Darren Johnson scored a number of memorable goals from far out, the team was well led by Ryan Hawke who kept the players in a positive mood. They were deserving winners of the best open side trophy. Kevin Smith RESULTS Played: 6 Won: 6 5THTEAM This team of mainly grade 11 boys showed a lot of team spirit and the results were a reflection of this cohesion. Hubert van Elewee RESULTS Played: 5 Won: 3 Drew: 2 6THTEAM This group of boys showed lots of enthusiasm at practices and during matches.The undeniable highlight was a 4 – 1 win over St Charles in a very exciting match. Mandla Moloi RESULTS Played: 4 Won: 1 Lost: 2 Drew: 1 7THTEAM The side was a social one consisting mainly of matric boys and the odd grade 11. The boys had enormous fun during the season and showed great camaraderie and enthusiasm. Some of the boys produced some excellent talent and skill in particular games that resulted in some awesome wins. Jake Adams RESULTS Played: 4 Won: 3 Lost: 1 8THTEAM This team of matrics used the season as relief from academic stress.They always arrived at practices eager to run around and chase the little round ball – a foreign pursuit for most of these rugby enthusiasts. It was encouraging to see boys embracing soccer at this level and merely enjoying the game. A big thank you goes to all the boys for making the season very enjoyable.
