TRIBUTE TO DEVINTWIGG 20.09.1992 – 2.05.2011 Devin Kennedy Twigg was a son, a brother, a friend and a great man. No words can describe the sense of loss we shared on that fateful day when he was taken. A smile that could light the darkest of rooms, a hear t as pure as any rare diamond, and the true meaning of “living life to the fullest”. For all those that had the privilege of knowing him knew him for his genuine nature and the ability to take life with such strength and grace when things went wrong. He touched the lives and hear ts of so many people in the shor t 18 years of his life. To his friends, and in particular to his Kearsney band of brothers, his passing is an incredible loss. Dev was the kind of person about whom you could never speak badly. Always in a cheerful mood and most welcoming whenever you went to his house. May the countless memories of our beloved Twiggy bring tears of joy and not sadness and pain for he is in a place far better than this life. Devin may be gone but he will never be forgotten. The universe may have lost a great person but it has gained an angel. Missed and loved forever by his family and friends, Lawrence, Jenni and Sydney Twigg and Granny Felicity Hansen With thanks to ‘Salad’ Salathiso Siwisa (Class of 2010) for his contribution to this tribute. Devin and his friend Calvin Appleton 47 FOUNDATION The incredible suppor t by Epoch and Optima Trusts during 2011 made it possible to increase the teaching capacity and access to resources to promote excellence in Mathematics while the ISASA initiative suppor ts boys with potential talent in Mathematics. Kearsney is delighted with the growing evidence of this excellence programme. Kearsney Legacy Society aims to growing Kearsney’s Endowed Funds 45 people joined the Kearsney Legacy Society by the end of 2011. This Society is a circle of passionate Kearsney suppor ters who have pledged to remember Kearsney in their estate. Many have and continue to give during their life time but belonging to this Society is a much valued vote of confidence in Kearsney’s future. The vision of this Society is to grow the Development Trust registered in 1983 as a tax friendly mechanism to receive endowment funds that would provide a sustainable and continuous legacy of suppor t to Kearsney College. I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver Maya Angelou
