KCOB Aim 2: Foster the interests of Kearsney College: Branches actively foster the interests of Kearsney: through identifying and encouraging prospective parents as well as raising suppor t for Kearsney initiatives. The KCOB monthly eNews and annual Greyhound keeps KCOBs well informed about Kearsney. The goal going forward is to motivate and make it easy for KCOBs to encourage their circle of friends to choose Kearsney for their son’s education. KCOBs Leadership on the Kearsney Board is one way of fostering Kearsney’s interests with Dave Polkinghorne handing over the reins to Andile Mazwai in 2011. In 2011 the Easter Rugby Festival was a massive success and an excellent adver t for the College. For a second year the Festival was kindly sponsored by the eLan Proper ty Group, a company owned by Old Boy, Mark Taylor. While it makes business sense to be involved with a festival rated as the strongest school Easter rugby festival in the country, it is an encouraging endorsement to have this support from a KCOB. KCOB Aim 3: Financial Sustainability of Kearsney College The third innovation in 2011 is the establishment of a Fund Mobilising and Legacy portfolio on the Executive under the leadership of Matt Copeland (1998). This por tfolio will help shape a campaign towards and beyond Kearsney’s centenary in 2021. Once shaped it will then drive momentum, with the Kearsney Foundation, to ensure success as we collectively seize the moment for Kearsney’s future. Recently significant pledges by old boys have been made towards projects in 2012 and we look forward to the Kearsney Foundation bringing news of these. It is also particularly special when branches and year groups mobilise to support Kearsney. The Durban and Swaziland branches joined forces to buy a new rugby scrum machine and the parents of the late Devin Twigg (2010) have star ted the Class of 2010 Memorial Fund. Thank You! Special relationship with the school I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Headmaster for his continued suppor t of the KCOB. We are extremely grateful for the close working relationship we have with the College and it is the Headmaster who goes out of his way to strengthen and enhance the bond between the College and the KCOB at every oppor tunity. The KCOB Executive and Branch Committees are working portfolios Thank you to this team for their leadership, commitment and passion. This is core to the successes enjoyed in this period. At the 83rd AGM the current Executive was re-elected with Justin Hughes (1990) and Bruce Shuker (1978) retiring with Grant Litster (1980) who was coopted in 2010 being formally appointed.
