Chronicle-2011

61 SPIRITUALITY CATHOLIC CATECHISM The highlight of this year was the confirmation of eleven grade 11 boys who made their commitment in September in a ceremony presided over by Bishop BarryWood. The boys are: Nicholas Bates, Litha Conco, Jonathan Deighton, Nkanyezi Hlatshwayo, James Manderson,Thulani Maphanga, Lusayo Mwangalawa, Mark Odayan, Luke Osborne, Jason Taylor, and MatthewWhitelaw. This is the largest number of “confirmees” we have had and we are very proud of them. The parish of Our Lady of Mercy at Kloof continues to accommodate us in the very comfortable surroundings of their newly built downstairs venues and ‘café’ and in truth this year Kearsney formed the majority in numbers so they really are very kind to allow us to descend upon them and dominate. Ronnie Wallace CAROL SERVICE As Christians we are called to uplift those who are less fortunate than ourselves. It is humbling to note that the whole Kearsney community and parents are supportive in these services. The offerings taken assist the Methodist Ethelbert Children`s Home which caters for abandoned and sick children. In 2010 our toiletries lasted for three months and in 2011 the Headmaster has encouraged the school to raise something that will last for at least six months. CONCLUSION The past 21 months have been a special time for Kearsney and Rev. Teboho Erasmus. One of the greatest gifts that God has bestowed on us is that of never forgetting the special moments in our life-time.To have been given the opportunity to be Chaplain to this wonderful community is a humbling experience. Indeed we have all shared the good and bad times. Facing life’s challenges becomes easier when you are surrounded by a community of caring saints. May God`s peace that surpasses all human understanding remain here always. To the Trustees, Board, Headmaster, staff, parents and especially the boys of this wonderful community: Carpe Diem! Grace, peace and love. Rev Teboho Erasmus
