Chronicle-2019

119 Cross Country The Cross Country team have enjoyed a happy and successful season. The boys have had expert coaching from an experienced and accomplished runner, Mr Sandile Lembatha. He has provided one-on-one coaching as well as additional training sessions to the team. This year the team has a strong contingent of senior boys who have been loyal and committed members. Amongst the banter they challenge one another, keeping a healthy level of competition. Mbulelo Dlamini has led from the front and proven an exemplary captain. His leadership is quiet and steadfast and no task is too big. The Cross Country season was short this year due to the differences in school holidays between participating schools, resulting in our team missing some of the inter-schools events. Of the events we attended, Tristan Sebire, Joshua Steytler and Cameron Nel all placed in the top ten. We congratulate all boys who participate every week and are proud of every finisher. Our goal is to grow the number of junior runners so they can lead our team into the future in the manner that our seniors have done, with passion and good humour. Thank you to the boys who have committed to our team regardless of their aches and pains, running in stifling heat and persevering during pressured times. Of course it`s hard. It`s supposed to be hard. If it was easy, everyone would do it. Hard is what makes it great.
