This boded well for the victory against Hilton College and St Charles College on home ground. After the Easter holidays, the team was forced to return to the drawing board as dynamics changed as players were called up to higher sides due to injuries acquired. Despite the upheaval, the boys played well throughout the season maintaining a never-say-die attitude and were only out-classed against Maritzburg College. A highlight of the season, perhaps the best performance, was the honour of being the only Kearsney senior team to beat Westville Boys’ High School on their Old Boys Day. Thank you to Ethan Mills and Storm Fitt who both captained the side during the season, displaying great leadership both vital components to the team’s overall success. A constantly changing team due to usual seasonal injuries made continuity challenging in game strategies. As many of our opposition sides are unable to field a 7th side the team only played four games. Throughout the season the boys displayed determination and resilience, despite the circumstances, and gave of their best. Well done 7th team, for your fighting spirit. Their character, determination and bravery on the field played to their advantage. Particular mention to Michael Delport and Lazio Wu who cemented their places in the team and led by example. Congratulations to all the boys who participated this season. Your hard work paid off and is appreciated. Thank you to my fellow coaches for your support and guidance.
