178 Under 15B Water Polo Regular players: Josh Alcock, Ethan Glenny, Chad Jones, Thomas Le Clézio, Sheyn Le Roux, Giovan Linton, Ntokozo Majola, Joshua Maskell, Jaydon White This year the U15B water polo side had small numbers, but still managed to put together a season to be proud of. The team aimed to develop their knowledge of the game and their skill-set rather than focus too much on results. Although our results are not flattering, the boys played the game with passion and enthusiasm. Their efforts were rewarded with victories against DHS, Maritzburg College and St Charles. They also had strong performances against Westville Boys’, Michaelhouse and Hilton, with our downfall often being our lack of numbers to substitute tired players. As captain, Joshua Maskell led by example. He played in the hole man and caused a lot of trouble for teams on attack. His best asset was his ability to hold the team together in the face of adversity. The boys can be proud of their season. They developed as individual players, but more importantly grew as a team. They displayed an exciting brand of water polo and I look forward to seeing their development over the years to come. The boys showed great heart coming together for some impressive highlights to their year, starting with a 3 - 3 draw against a very strong Hilton team in the first term. The boys had the honour of travelling to East London to represent Kearsney at the Selborne College Sterrenberg U15 Tournament and played some lovely polo, going down in the semi-finals. As well as making the Tournament team, Dimitri Diakogiannis won the Goalkeeper of the tournament award and Tom Carmody won the award for Best Attacker. The local Top 10 tournament took place in Term 4 and Kearsney took 3rd place in the U15 section, with a tough game against DHS to compete for the bronze medal. Congratulations to Tom Carmody and Dimitri Diakogiannis for being selected for the KZN U15 team to compete at the 2019 IPT in Gauteng. Results: Played 19, Won 9, Lost 8, Drew 2 Mr Gregg Higgs Coach
