Chronicle-2019

59 Chapel services, with talks around the theme of “Walking the Talk”. Over the course of the year, more than 70 boys met in small cell groups one evening each week, the purpose of the cell groups being to build faith-based relationships of trust where boys can study the bible, discuss issues bothering them and pray for one another. These groups are led by boys in Grades 10 to 12. His energy and enthusiasm shall be missed and we wish him well in his new posting. One of our goals as an SCA this year was to make Wednesday evening meetings more interactive, with greater opportunities for boys to discuss issues relating to their faith in small groups. We were challenged and encouraged by guest speakers on various topics relating to relevant issues, such as our response as “Men of Christ” to xenophobia and gender based violence. Testimony evenings provided opportunities for boys to give God glory and thanks for answered prayers. “Give thanks to the LORD … make known what he has done; tell of all his wonderful acts.” Ps. 105:1 Our Ministry Week in the second term was kickstarted with a rousing Youth Rally which was attended by boys and girls from local, coastal and inland schools. During the following week, youth ministers from local churches stimulated debate, in RE lessons and in Spirituality
