The team has changed over the years but was boosted this year by the two boys boasting national teams experience, Max HastingsBrown and Ryan Wimbush. This vastly improved unit showed opposition that they were going to be tough to beat. They appeared to have learned from their mistakes of the past and brought an enthusiasm and dedication to the new season. They swept all opposition away early in the season and won games easily. The winning streak, however, was brought to an abrupt halt at the St Stithians College U16 tournament when they lost their first game to Pretoria Boys High School. This proved to be the wakeup call that would end their arrogance and set them on the right path to get back to the hard graft of winning games and playing like the team that they were. They did not drop another game until a tightly contested final of the same tournament when they went down to St Georges College from Zimbabwe 43 – 44. They played well but there were just too many injuries to key payers to get them over the finish line. The can however hold their head up high having representing themselves and the College with dignity and courage. After the high of the tournament they returned home to play Maritzburg College in what turned out to be a pedestrian game with both teams exhausted from their exploits at the previous tournament. Neither team should have won, but Maritzburg College managed to pip Kearsney at the post by 23- 22. Basketball
