97 Under 15B Basketball Term 1 Regular players: Dagan De Witt, Nicholas HowardBrowne, Bandile Makhaye, Sbongakonke Maphumulo, Wandile Ngwane, Hloni Penane, Kayden Robinson, Adriaan Smit, Michael Smith, Ruan Steenkamp Term 3 and 4 Regular players: Ulizwi Buthelezi, Avuzwa Gazi, Chaz Gooderson, Njabulo Gumede, Jamol Langeni, Fynn Pollock, Kayden Robinson, Adriaan Smit, Ruan Steenkamp Right from the beginning of the season the team realised that there was a lot of work to be done they had learned and developed a lot from the under 14 year. The boy’s embraced the challenge and threw themselves wholeheartedly into practice and their preparation for matches. They had some cracking wins at home and surprised opponents that had beaten them last year. The team’s dedication to practice and honing their skills paid dividends on the court during matches and it was apparent as they improved in very match that was played. Much can be said of their commitment and enthusiasm as well as their enjoyment of the game. They has seen basketball as a serious game but one which is fun and can be very enjoyable. This was a great team to coach and some of them will go on to play for A teams in the next few year. Mr Ntshingila coached the team for the first term but was promoted to the A team for the second half of the year. The third and fourth term saw Mr Mtshali take the reins and a change of coaching strategy was employed whit the team playing full court man to man defence. This defence took to team a bit of time to adjust to and they lost some games during the adjustment period however bounced back to win the final games of the season convincingly.
