139 138 This season provided a valuable learning experience for both me and the boys. I was impressed by their enthusiasm and willingness to learn. We began the season with a 0-2 loss to Clifton College, who scored two breakaway goals against the flow of the game. The tour was an incredible opportunity to bond with the team, and the cohesion among everyone was remarkable. One of the highlights was our 3-0 victory against Michaelhouse, where we played excellent team hockey, and everyone contributed to the win. In a 2-3 loss to Paul Roos, the boys fought right to the end, and our three starting midfielders all had to come off with injuries, and the replacements stepped up and made Kearsney proud. Beating Maritzburg College away was another memorable game. Everyone on the team played their role brilliantly, and I couldn’t have asked for more. I will never forget the look in their eyes and Mr Kirsten’s eyes when that final whistle went! It was a special moment for everyone involved. It was a pleasure coaching the U14A team. The boys have been fantastic, and I know they will continue to make Kearsney proud in years to come.
