The players were tireless, hardworking and determined throughout the campaign. Following a successful U14A rugby season last year, a lot of opposition had this team in their sights, and they were tested in many closely-contested matches. The boys embraced the challenge and their willingness to learn and grow was tremendous. The boys showed a lot of team cohesion, unity and camaraderie. They did not shy away from any team, as they remained highly competitive, even on challenging days. The boys displayed grit and humility and played beautiful running rugby. Mark van der Merwe was the season's most improved player. His dedication and work ethic have been evident every time he gets on the field, and his motivation and determination have inspired his teammates. The U15A Rugby team truly showed dedication, not only on the field but also in the classroom. The team embraced the challenges throughout the season and had fun playing rugby. The commitment to the team values from the U15A team is commendable, as they not only displayed skills on the rugby field, but also a strong sense of brotherhood. The U15A's determination and courage in defending the try line in the match against Westville reflected the true spirit of the team. It was an honour and a privilege to witness the U15A represent the College in that manner. The U15A have shown great potential and I am excited to see how they develop their skills further. The hard work of the U15A rugby team was also demonstrated when Hayden Swart, Levi Edwards, Oliver Ludwig and Luke Faure were selected for the Sharks U15B team, while Nhlanhla Ndlovu, Lwandle Mkhize and Lwazi Mbebe represented the Sharks U15A team, which went on to win the 2023 Rhino Week.
