Mr Ayanda Duma Coach Under 15D Soccer Once again it was a good soccer season for my boys . All these young men played with so much heart , and passion and showed true team spirit at practice and on game days. Our practice were as tough as the games, which was good preparation for success. Captain Yusuf Badat was very disciplined at the backline and made many impressive tackles in critical moments. Thomas Aylward is a remarkable player and was the heart of the team, while Thomas Francke was the decider of the games with his scoring ability . These boys are winners and i wish them all the best moving forward . Regular players: Yusuf Badat (Captain), Rayyan Ahmad, Thomas Buchan, James Beningfield, Christian de Oliveira, Under 15B Soccer The 2023 soccer season was one of growth and team building. It took us a few games to get everyone settled in the right positions, with the right formations, but then the team grew in confidence, skill, and fitness each week. The game plan was to play patient soccer, building up our possession from the back, attacking down the line, and then playing our strikers in a centre position. Our philosophy was to play confidently and never stop working, even when we did not have the ball. The positive attribute of our team was the sheer love that every player had for the game, which showed in practice and during games. Our most memorable moment this season was our second fixture against Clifton College. We had lost to them 1-3 in the first game but came back to win 6-0 in the second meeting. This result encompasses the philosophy that our team stood for - to show maturity, respect, Thomas Francke, Khwezi Godo, Callan Guerin, Reuben Hemsley, Oliver Moore-Gordon, Dale Ramsay, Tristan Louw, Angus Fyvie, Thomas Aylward (Vice-Captain), Davor Curach, Ntsika Mkhize, Daniel Berlyn and Marcus Wise Results: Played 6, Won 5, Drew 1 Mr Mfanafuthi Ntombela Coach Under 15E Soccer It was an exciting and rewarding season for the boys. The beginning of the season did not go our way, but with the team adapting to each other, the wins began coming our way. A highlight of the season was our third match against Westville. We were 0-2 down in the series and we decided that the last game would be a win for the team. We ultimately achieved a great win, which the players really enjoyed. It was a fantastic season and an awesome squad of ‘E’ and ‘F’ players. The passion the boys showed for their teammates was lovely to see. I hope the boys enjoy their soccer in the future.
