These boys have played over 100 fixtures for their school: David Pohl - 127 Caps James Pohl - 105 Caps Blake Kruger - 132 Caps James Francke - 147 Caps Guy Roberts -100 Caps Thomas Gowin - 100 Caps Ryan Sim - 126 Caps Robert Smith – 101 Caps Luca Sandri – 101 Caps The following boys were selected to represent KZN at the InterProvincial Tournament held in Gqeberha 09 - 13 December 2023: The 1st team’s water polo season was exhilarating, marked by ambitious objectives, positive team dynamics and notable defining characteristics. The team set out with clear goals, aiming for both individual and collective excellence in the pool. Throughout the season, a strong sense of camaraderie and resilience defined the team, contributing to a positive and competitive atmosphere. The dedication to training has defined the team and shaped the season, a testament to the power of unity. The season unfolded with some highs and lows, each contributing to the team's characteristics of resilience and achievement. Placing 6th at the fiercely-competitive Clifton tournament demonstrated the team's ability to contend with top-tier opponents. Victories against Hilton, with scores of 10-9 and 8-5, were shining moments of strategic brilliance and teamwork. Despite encountering challenges, including a narrow 9-10 loss to Paul Roos Gymnasium and a tight 2-3 match against Clifton, the team's competitive spirit remained unyielding. The remarkable journey culminated with the resounding success at the Northwood tournament, a testament to their hard work and dedication, providing a fitting closure to a season marked by both triumphs and challenges, all met with unwavering determination. Several players shone brightly in the constellation of talent that illuminated the season, deserving special recognition for their exceptional contributions. Among them, James Francke, David Pohl, Guy Roberts, and Thomas Godwin, who are departing as Matrics, played pivotal roles in shaping the team's success. Their commitment extended beyond the pool deck, serving as beacons of inspiration for teammates and setting a benchmark for future seasons. Additionally, an impressive number of players making it to the KZN provincial teams further underlines the team's depth of talent and individual excellence, key contributors to the overall success of the season. As the season concludes, we reflect on the journey with pride and gratitude. The collective efforts of the coaching staff and players, and the unwavering support from families, have shaped a season to remember.
