We are grateful for every gift and know that an institution flourishes when the entire community feels responsible for its success. Your support builds on and is part of the Kearsney family’s long history of philanthropy, and each new Kearsney generation benefits from your generosity. Through generous donations made by various benefactors, the Foundation has allowed 164 boys from Grade 8 to Grade 12 to attend this outstanding College. We bid farewell to 35 Grade 12 boys who have come through Kearsney’s Bursary and Scholarship programme. We truly hope that these fine young men, as Kearsney College Old Boys, will realise the benefit of giving back to the College to give other boys this phenomenal opportunity. The Kearsney College Foundation would like to express its gratitude to the Trustees of the Kearsney Development Fund, Messrs David Pearse and Benji Hector and the Chairman of the Board, Grant Coppin, who meticulously undertake their fiduciary duties and manage the Kearsney Development investment fund. A big thank you and welcome as Sir Liege donors; Captain Nicholas Sloane (KCOB, Pembroke, 1978), Dr Lawrence Rowley (KCOB, Gillingham, 1975), Mr Darin Owen (KCOB, Finningley, 1975) and contributors to The USA and Canada Centenary Bursary Fund (KCOB contributors) for their generous and continued support of the Foundation. The Kearsney College Trust is a registered Public Benefit Organization (PBO: 130002570) and Non-Profit Organisation (NPO: 024-882-NPO), and therefore, all donations made within South Africa receive a Section 18A tax certificate. Changes to the laws governing the issuing of tax certificates changed with effect from 01 March 2023, which will result in the Foundation updating tax details of donors to ensure that S18A certificates that are issued at the end of the current tax year (2023/ 2024) are compliant. In closing, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our supporters for your unwavering support of the College through The Foundation. Your contributions ensure that Kearsney continues to produce exemplary young leaders of the future. Shantell van Jaarsveld Foundation Director SIR LIEGE HULETT AWARDS The Foundation office was honoured to award the following individuals and/or companies the Sir Liege Hulett Award on behalf of Kearsney College, with grateful thanks. The USA & Canada Old Boys Centenary Bursary Fund for their regular and generous support of sponsored school fees for students and for purchasing the courtyard in the Centenary Centre named The Elwyn van den Aardweg Quadrangle, affectionately referred to as the EvdA Quad. Style Eyes of California (Pty) Ltd for their wonderful support towards sponsored school fees and contribution to our B-BBEE empowerment programme, which has touched the lives of so many of our boys. SPONSORSHIPS 2023 Kearsney Easter Rugby Festival brought to you by Standard Bank The return of the Kearsney Easter Rugby Festival over the Easter weekend was welcomed by the participating schools, sponsors, rugby enthusiasts and the broader community. An event of this magnitude would not be possible without our title sponsor, Standard Bank, and we wish to thank them for their ongoing support of schoolboy rugby. We also thank our founding partner, The Sharks Academy, for their continued support of this event. Halfway Ford once again pulled out all the stops and incorporated the Boots & Balls initiative within their activation, supporting not only schoolboy rugby but also rugby development within KwaZulu Natal.
