Chronicle-2023

Haley House Housemaster’s report This year has been truly remarkable year, filled with excitement and many successes for individual boys. It is with great pride and gratitude that I share a snippet of the life in Haley House and express our appreciation to those who contributed to a memorable year. First and foremost, we began the year with a full complement of boarders. The 106 Haley boarders constituted the largest number of boarders ever, a testament to our boarding structures’ enduring appeal and reputation here at Kearsney College. Our new boys, settled in remarkably well at the start of the year. Their passion and enthusiasm have been truly inspiring and we look forward to watching them grow and flourish as they progress through the College. Their dedication and potential give us every reason to be excited about the future of our school. I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Haydon Bishop and the prefects for their outstanding leadership and dedication throughout the year. They were firm but fair, and their actions set a shining example of what it means to be a true Kearsney boy. Their efforts in maintaining discipline, fostering camaraderie and providing guidance have significantly contributed to the positive atmosphere in the House. A successful year is the result of the collective efforts of many individuals and we must acknowledge and appreciate the following people for their contributions: the cleaning staff have diligently ensured that our boarding house remained tidy and clean. Their hard work has created a comfortable and hygienic environment for all our boarders; the maintenance staff have played a crucial role in keeping our facilities in optimal condition, ensuring that everything functions smoothly; the dedicated sisters in the sanatorium have taken excellent care of the boys, maintaining their health and well-being throughout the year; and the duty staff have made a significant impact through their unwavering commitment and professionalism. Their hard work and willingness to serve have not gone unnoticed, and we are sure that both the boys and their parents are grateful for their dedication. In conclusion, 2023 has been a year of positive growth and success in Haley House. It will be remembered by the boys as a period of self-discovery and brotherhood. We look forward to continuing this journey and creating an even brighter future for our boarders, eagerly anticipating another remarkable year in 2024.
