Chronicle-2023

Visual Arts The Art department had a fun and busy year of creativity and passion. Students have taken on many projects, from painting to sculpture, that showcase their artistic talents and abilities. The energy and enthusiasm displayed in the art room have been genuinely inspiring. This year the senior boys had many opportunities to enrich their learning experience through various excursions. The Matric boys attend a workshop by four prominent South African artists whose work forms part of their final examination. The other senior boys went on an excursion to the Midlands, where we focused on three-dimensional art: visiting sculptural and ceramics studios. It was great to see how such inspiration manifests in the work made by the boys and demonstrates the importance of embracing these opportunities and using them to further develop their skills and knowledge. The students have shown tremendous creativity and dedication, and it has been a joy to watch them grow and develop as artists. Overall, it's been a truly successful year for the Art department, and we're incredibly proud of our accomplishments. We look forward to building on this success in the years to come and continuing to inspire more boys through the artistry and creativity of our current artists.
