179 Centenary Edition Kearsney 25th Tennis festival We thank our sponsors; My SPAR, Sportsmans Warehouse and Wilson Tennis for their phenomenal contribution to another very successful Kearsney Tennis Festival. Bursary and scholarship lunch Every year the recipients of scholarships and bursaries attend a special lunch where they are reminded to seize the incredible opportunities that they have been offered and to remember to hold a spirit of gratitude for the opportunity to attend Kearsney through the generosity of others. Kearsney College teacher Steven Edwards (Pembroke, 2006), who was himself a scholarship recipient in his day, spoke to the boys about his experiences as a Kearsney schoolboy and how the lessons and values have molded him into the person that he is today, and his lasting gratitude for the opportunity. The importance of understanding that with great privilege comes great responsibility was reiterated and the boys were urged to make the most of their experience at Kearsney, to be grateful for the opportunity and to seize the day. “When it comes to life the critical thing is whether you take things for granted or take them with gratitude.” G.K. Chesterton Sponsorships Alpine Motors Kearsney College is very grateful to Alpine Motors for sponsoring a new vehicle for the College. This vehicle, and the previous vehicle sponsored by Alpine Motors, is ideal for transporting small groups of boys to and from outside activities. Mr Wiseman Ngwane, who has been driving Kearsney boys safely for over 16 years, says this new VW Transporter 6 is beautiful and he is excited about the new addition to the Kearsney fleet.
